A Birthday

Crazy things have been going on for the past weeks but I don't see any reason why you should not be celebrating today.  This marks your 29th year, your last year to be "twenty-something" so I know it's a big deal. Second time to welcome your day with a baby on your chest and a celebration far from the late-night 'til the morning light drinking session. Does that make you look forward to the next? I hope so. After all, I witness how you have genuinely been involved in raising your son, which entails giving up a whole lot of your freedom, being young, and doing youthful things. You are an exceptional father, and this is hands down one of biggest things in the world that I am thankful for.

Today, I can't talk of all bliss and happy times because the past two years were mostly not a walk in the park for us as a couple. We had many moments of silence, but at times the bad feeling has to go somewhere and well, we are each other's most accessible target. I say we go on being human, being our imperfect selves, frowning at each other's weaknesses but delighting somewhere in the corner of our hearts that it has been me and you. It has been us interacting on those situations. I know you will always make me cry, I will make you furious and we will laugh again together, living each moment the best we can, fighting to make things work.

And I will always believe you are the best, even past your twenty-something.

Always,
LA
